Invitation to Participate in
Noise-Con 2013
held in conjunction with the
2013 International Wind Turbine Noise Conference

Noise-Con 2013, the US national noise control conference, is being held in the Downtown Marriott in Denver, Colorado, Monday, August 26 through Wednesday August 28th, 2013. It is being held in conjunction with the International 2013 Wind Turbine Noise Conference, which starts on the evening of Tuesday, August 27 and ends around 6pm on Friday August 30th, 2013.

We anticipate a large, broad program of sessions on a variety of noise control topics including: techniques to help measure, understand and model noise sources and how the sound propagates; methods to control and reduce noise sources in buildings and other environments that people occupy; design of noise control materials and systems; low frequency noise; environmental and community noise; noise from renewable and tradition power generation; construction noise; noise policy; soundscapes: quiet spaces, national parks, urban parks, cityscapes; how sound effects people: annoyance, sleep disturbance, hearing and hearing protection; transportation & machinery noise; noise in manufacturing facilities; sound quality and product sound design.

A large exposition of vendors of noise control materials, software, and measurement devices will be held in the hotel's Colorado Ballroom, which is an excellent exhibit space, adjacent to the session rooms. Receptions on Monday and Tuesday night and refreshment breaks in the morning and afternoon, which will take place in the exposition hall, will provide great opportunities for attendees to meet and interact with the vendors and learn about their latest products.

Denver is a vibrant city with spectacular views of the Rocky Mountains. There are wonderful museums, great restaurants, and many places to visit. The weekend after the conferences, in the Denver Civic Center Park, is the Taste of Colorado - Festival of Mountain and Plain. Within an easy walking distance from the hotel is the LoDo area which is home to restaurants, bookstores, and galleries. Also close to the hotel is Larimer Square, the Denver Performing Arts Center, and the Denver Art Museum. There are also a good bus and light rail services to help you get around.

Near to Denver are great places to enjoy such as Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. There is the rich history of the west which you can experience at multiple venues including the Buffalo Bill Museum in nearby Golden, Colorado; the Colorado History Museum in Denver; and a further afield at the Manitou Cliff Dwellings Museum located at the foot of Pikes Peak, about an hour and half from Denver.

The photographs on this web site have been made available to us from Visit Denver which is where you can find information about the Denver area. We thank photographers Steve Crecelius, Rich grant, Bob Ash, Ron Ruhoff, Stan Obert, and Ted Stedman and Visit Denver for allowing us to use the photos.

We look forward to welcoming you to Denver in August 2013!
