The Noise Control Engineering Journal (NCEJ) is now offering authors the option of publishing their papers with Open Access. The details of this option are described below. Authors still have the option of publishing with access through the INCE Digital Library or subscriptions at no charge to the author.

Open Access Publication Option for Technical Papers and Case Studies

Authors may choose this option, if they wish to have their accepted manuscripts published open access immediately upon publication without any embargo period. Open access might be a requirement of their institutions or research funders, allowing also non-subscribers of the journal to access an article free-of-charge.

For this option, authors, their institutions or their research funders are required to pay an Article Publication Charge (APC) of $1,300 or $1,000 for INCE-USA members. Receipt of payment is a prerequisite of publishing the article open access immediately upon publication of the respective issue.

All articles are subject to thorough, independent peer-review. Authors will only be asked upon acceptance of their research papers, if they wish to make use of the open access publication option. Thus, the reviewing and decision process is independent of whether an author will make use of this option, because editors and reviewers are not aware of the author’s intention.
