It is with deep sadness that INCE reports the passing of our colleague, INCE Fellow, and Past President William J. "Bill" Cavanaugh on July 14, 2019. Founder of Cavanaugh Tocci Associates, Bill was  honored with the Acoustical Society of America's Gold Medal in May, 2019. (Follow the link to download a PDF of the ASA Citation.)

Tony Hoover of Hoover and Keith writes, "Bill was a dear friend, a great colleague, and a wonderful mentor. We have all been blessed by his wisdom, enthusiasm, kindness, and remarkable contributions to acoustics and acoustical consulting.

"He loved his family deeply, and considered all of us [practicing acousticians] his extended family. He was also in love with acoustical consulting, and it showed.

I encourage every member of INCE to do your best to 'pay it forward' in his memory."
