Position Description:

SSA Acoustics is expanding. We are actively seeking an acoustical consultant to join our team in Seattle, WA. The position will focus on consulting in architectural and engineering acoustics for the full range of our projects, including multifamily residential, commercial, civic, education, worship, industrial, healthcare, and performing arts.  

Responsibilities include:

• Evaluation and design solutions related to project acoustical scope, including room acoustics, noise isolation, MEP system noise and vibration control, structural isolation, etc.
• Collaboration with project teams to develop acoustic solutions to meet project design goals.
• Produce detailed acoustical reports, drawings, details, specifications, etc.
• Manage project deadlines and deliverables.
• Conduct field measurements, construction site visits, etc.
• Responding to RFPs, RFQs, for new project opportunities.
• Assist with SSA’s marketing efforts and client development.

 We are accepting applications from candidates with the following qualifications:

• Minimum 4 years experience in acoustical consulting.
• Experience with projects involving room acoustics, sound isolation, and mechanical system noise and vibration control.
• Experience with various acoustical measurements in accordance with current standards including ANSI, ASTM, and ISO.
• Experience with reviewing and interpreting building drawings and specifications
• Experience with noise/acoustic modeling software, AutoCAD, word processing and spreadsheet programs.
• Current or interest in active involvement with professional societies (AIA, ASHRAE, INCE, etc).
• A BS or higher degree in a field directly or closely related to acoustical consulting.
• Demonstrate innovative problem-solving skills resulting in applicable solutions.
• Ability to manage tasks and deliverables and effectively prioritize multiple concurrent projects. 
• Ability to work through tasks from initiation to completion.
• Motivation. Consultants are encouraged to learn and develop continuously, engage with other project consultants, and actively seek growth and advancement.  

 Professional certification (INCE, PE, or equivalent) is highly valued.
